My girls begged me for days to take them to see "Spy Kids 3-D" Sooo I, caved and took them..I should have known better. Now I have this Massive Headache! Why in the history of 3-D movie making, can they not make one that won't make your head pound after?

I remember a couple years ago I bought Robot Monster on VHS (the old 50's bad sci-film where the robot monster was really a guy in a gorilla suit, with a sort of old-style diving bell helmet that had antennas attached to it).

It was in 3D and came with two pairs of those blue and red glasses. I watched it with a friend and we both got major headaches from the glasses, as well as the fact that the movie was terrible

3-D movies are hard to sit through...they last way too long. It's one thing to go to Universal Studios and sit thru a 20 or 30 minute 3-D amusement thing but to sit through 1.30 or 2 hours of 3-D can get awful tiresome to the eyes because of the constant change of focus your eyes go through and in the DARK no less. Hence the onset of a headache afterwards...

This effect can happen from playing video games too long btw...not that WE are guilty of that

Yea David, where's the flyin cars, dream recorders and resorts on the moon?China I have actually seen two 3d movies that worked well and no headache, but most were unwatchable. Both times it worked well the glasses were dark and light instead of red and blue. How the hell are you supposed to watch anything thru red and blue glasses?

There was a theatre in Monterey that bought the dual-projector 3D system for a few hundred thousand bucks but there were only two movies made for it. It used the dark glasses (polarized lenses) and was a pretty good effect as I recall. I only remember what one of the movies was, Andy Warhol's "Dracula". The entrails hanging down in the sewer grate was the highlight of the film.... they stretched halfway across the theatre.

unfortunately the "Dream" theatre went out of business...

dont talk to me about mechwarrior cruades, 6 hours worth of league drop in mechwarrior 4 ( 10 times better graphics) nearly killed me

Polorized lenses sounds like a good trick. They have 360 degree cameras so it would be possible to construct a room(circular I guess)that projected from a spinning projector on the ceiling or was made of lcd's and wired from the outside .(like a flat panel monitor only curved)

I actually believed as a boy that I would have been to the moon by now.I've been "spaced" a few times, but no extra-orbital vehicles were required.

A flying car does exist, it's in Australia, and does anyone remember the 3D Movie that used ordinary Polaroid Sunglases it was called "Space Hunter"
